The Cineforum will explore five key themes, which seem to be demanding a paradigm
shift in our thinking.
By this we mean that most of us are currently operating within outdated paradigms from which we think about climate change - in terms of reversal, mitigation, coming regulatory change and strategies to lower our impact.
During the day, we’ll structure our inputs and workshops to help delegates gain a deeper understanding of these paradigm shifts. Cuttting edge thought leaders and grassroots innovators will help us to collectively bring all our thinking and strategies right up to date and
to contribute to a concerted vision of the paradigms within which we need to be operating.
Here are the 5 Paradigm shifts we’ll be exploring:
FROM - Focus on carbon reduction strategies as the priority issue for development, industrial design and lifestyle goals.
TO - Achieving a balance between reigning in greenhouse gas emissions and meeting pressing social and developmental goals.
FROM - A quantitative measure of economic wealth, growth and success.
TO - A qualitative measure of economic wellbeing, individual progress and happiness.
Energy Technology and Regulation
FROM - Carbon based fuels are a necessary driver of human advancement and prosperity
TO - Living within a clean closed loop system of energy production and consumption
FROM - Exploiting the natural environment purely as a resource for human consumption and advancement.
TO - Protecting and nurturing the environment in the spirit of stewardship and reciprocity.
FROM - Environment experts and crusaders leading activism from the front.
TO - Engaged, informed and connected communities working across cultures and sectors to implement new systems and innovation.

We believe that our current thinking is out of synch with what is happening to human society and to the planet. We need to update our thinking. We are bringing the top thinkers (and you?) together to design a new paradigm.
