The Cineforum is a collaboration format that uses film, diverse speakers and innovative tools to synthesize fresh perspectives on contemporary subjects.

Our over-arching ambition at Fair Knowledge is to create a world where people from all demographics are respected for their expertise in all fields, where knowledge is heterogeneous and where humankind benefits and advances from a diverse pool of knowledge. Our ambition for the Cineforum is to demonstrate and communicate the richness of human experiences and perspectives and to create the definitive benchmark for celebrating diversity of thought in the global knowledge economy.

Convening people and creative thinking on subjects that matter.

A Cineforum is a collaboration hub that blends cutting edge thinking with cultural elements (film, art. photography) and creative learning techniques to promote perspectives from the edge and to create strategies and solutions to combat important contemporary issues. Cineforums are founded on diligently designed pedagogic strategies aimed at enhancing delegates’ depths of knowledge, networks and collaborative projects.

Our last Cineforum explored the role of Muslim women taking leadership in an unstable world.

The goal we set ourselves: To explore the role of Muslim women as leaders in an unstable world and offer inspiration and training for creating influence.

How we did it: We screened films from the UK, US, Lebanon, Israel and India, followed by debate from thought leaders, both Muslim and non-Muslim. Seminars, leadership training workshops and mentoring enhanced aspirations and actions for nearly 300 delegates plus a reach of almost 50 million people from across the world through associated press, radio and online publicity.

The outcome: This Cineforum determined that Muslim women needed to come to the fore of local, national and international relations and began the process of upskilling and connecting those with the passion to see more Muslim women in positions of influence throughout all spheres including home, business and politics.

The spin-off from this is the Muslim Women’s World Summit, being convened by Fair Knowledge in June 2010.

Similarly, we are planning a spin-off from this Climate Cineforum, the film Road To Ecotopia
