Bringing fringe voices into the knowledge economy
About Us
Jobeda Ali
Managing Director
Jobeda originally spent 12 years in the public sector initiating new educational ventures connecting formal and informal learning and enhancing the economic and entrepreneurial capacity of fringe voices, especially women and young people. A sudden shift in 2004 saw her spend a couple of years as a documentary filmmaker within mainstream broadcasters and production companies; this opened her eyes to the difficulties that some people at the fringes of society have in engaging in mainstream debates, despite the enthusiasm that mainstream media has for fresh voices. She has since been utilising her specialism in collaborative learning and network creation to meet this challenge. Jobeda is a Cambridge graduate, holds a Masters in World Trade and Development and is a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs. In 2007, Jobeda was one of 20 women from across the world to be selected as a “Rising Talent” by the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society. She is a member of the Guardian’s Social Enterprise Advisory Panel and is Winner of the Social Business Leader of the Year at the Oguntê Women’s Social Leadership Awards 2010.
